Marcelo has over 25 years of experience in complex disputes, acting as attorney and arbitrator.
He was a member of the board of directors, co-chief executive officer, and co-head of the litigation Department of one of the most prestigious full-service Brazilian law firms for successive terms.
Marcelo holds a Ph.D. in Law from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg University (Germany) and Master’s and Bachelor of Laws from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).
Marcelo focuses his practice on corporate, contractual, civil, and commercial litigation, representing large domestic and multinational companies.
He is the author of books and guest lecturer in the areas of procedural law, arbitration, and intellectual property.
Marcelo is also active in a number of important institutions, including:
Member of the Board of Experts of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association Dispute Resolution Center (CSD-ABPI);
Board member of the Dispute Resolution Center of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (CSD-ABPI);
Represented the São Paulo Section of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI);
Coordinated the Committee for Repression of Infringements of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association in São Paulo (ABPI).

Advised a major engineering client in litigation involving USD 100 million.
Advised a major client in the construction industry in litigation involving USD 240 million.
Advised a major client in the chemical industry in litigation involving USD 98 million.
