João Pedro Marques holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Procedure from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and a Bachelor of Laws, with honors, from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).


João Pedro attended an international arbitration and European law course at the University of Paris – Panthéon-Assas and co-authored articles published in legal books. His work focuses on arbitration and multidisciplinary litigation.

Relevant Experiences

Advised one of the largest mining companies in the world in the first Dispute Board in Brazil involving Federal Government entities.

Represented a construction company in litigation and arbitration against a soccer club involving the operation of one of the largest stadiums in Latin America. 

Represented a company that manufactures machines for the extraction of citrus oils in litigation related to the violation and protection of its patent in Brazil.

Represented one of the largest energy companies in Brazil in an international ICC arbitration seated in New York over liability for termination of an agreement to supply solar panels to Latin America’s largest photovoltaic power plant. The amount involved is USD 210 million.
