Sophia has experience in complex litigation, representing clients in court proceedings and arbitration, particularly in corporate disputes and commercial arbitration. Her professional background includes both client representation at leading law firms and the assessment and structuring of litigation finance transactions at an investment management firm.
Throughout her undergraduate studies, she focused on Commercial Law and Arbitration. She is a co-founder of the University of São Paulo’s Center for International Trade Law (CDCI) and Law and Finance Study Group (FIRMA), and serves as coordinator of the University of São Paulo’s Debt Advisory & Distressed Deals Study Group (D3).
Sophia has also represented the University of São Paulo in prominent national and international arbitration competitions. She served as an oralist in the 13th CAMARB Brazilian Arbitration and Mediation Competition (2022), the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (2023), and the Miami Young Members Group & AAA-ICDR Advanced International Arbitration Mock Trial (2025).
She is the author of an empirical report on Written Witness Statements prepared for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Young Members Group, Brazil Branch (Ciarb YMG), during the 2024–2025 term. She was also the winner of the Legal Opinion Competition organized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb), in partnership with the CIESP/FIESP Chamber of Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.
